Spear Gun Shaft Extension

SPEARGUN shafts that are short for your applications. Some options here to consider.

POLESPEAR extension are different, even if they may look similiar. extensons for poles are typicaly usesd for longer reach to target and also a place for the fish to reside after the shot.

For a longer speargun shaft, most just order a longer version from a manufacturer or aftermarket shaft suppliers like Addiction Spears [ Dean Koutras ]

Other times a shaft extension is wanted for travel considerations or in the field options for the hunting needs.

Summary Notes:

5/16" shafts and 9/32" sizes are typical. [ 8mm and 7mm for the metric sizes ]
JBL and others typically have a .271" shoulder below the 6mm-1 thread is common place
Riffe has an extension shaft that is 9/32" with a 6mm-1 on both sides and NO Shoulder feature.

Here are some speargun tips I have made, In process picture.

Note the counterbore feature. The wall of the bore is pretty small and is most likely the area the tip will fail.

The tips are made from 17-4 ph for added strength. This helps cover the weak spot of counter bore.

Without the close fit of the shoulder to counterbore , those 6mm threads would just snap off.

Adding a shaft extension onto a speargun shaft, one needs to consider that the extension / adapter doesn't IMPACT the shaft in the Muzzle.

This Gun example allows for some space for the new part to fit over the 5/16" shaft along with the counterbore.

If the extenson or adapter was too long and didn't allow enough space for the wire slider then the shaft couldn't go back in the gun trigger completely and wouldn't work.

6mm F x 6mm M with external strengthing tube.

I added the tube for just a touch more strength to the connection.

The tube can be mounted so it hangs off the bottom and can cover the spearshaft too.

I added this for the kinda stuff that really helps me make the ACTUAL Part you wanting.

Note the genreral dimensions are not all perfect to the 1/1000" .

The ? is great. The customer didn't know the size of stock and left some feature up for me to do.

The dimensions he felt were important are there. He left off the depth of the 5/16"-24 thread, but that's ok. The drawing was scaled so I can see he wants about [ .70" ] of useable threads.

The shoulder below 6mm was left off, he probably wanted the spear tip to fit over the 5/16" section.
